Interactive CD Cover - GEEEENIUS!

This is totally insane, such an original idea, perfect execution.

The guys at Hubero Kororo have produced a cd cover/casing for new music brand Uceroz that when you tear the strip on the side to open it, you break open an ink sachet beneath the pristene white cover, releasing a purple dye to bleed thru the cover thus creating a totally original, unique cover for each and every copy! Brilliant

I know it’s been around for a while but thought that seeing as it’s the start of a new year I thought it would be as good a time as ever to start using my Daytum account.

Playful Event

A couple of weeks ago I had the privaledge of attending the Playful event in the fantastic Conway Hall, london.

There were some great great talks and speakers. Highlights for me were:
- Russell Davies (who amongst other things writes for one of my favourite magazines, Wired),
- Tassos Stevens who made cricket sound very very interesting,
- James Bridle who seems to have an imagination that I think would make most peoples heads explode!
- Robin Burkinshaw answering questions about his amazing story of Alice and Kev
- Rex who brought the Playful identity to life with his drawings but also did a fantastic talk old school style with an overhead project, asetate and pens!

Also, to boot, with the provide lunch came a raffle ticket from the guys at Playgroup with the promise of a ‘Playful’ prize being awarded to the lucky winner drawn out of the hat the following Monday…

Well would you believe it, I only went and won didn’t I!! #255 is now officially my lucky number altho I don’t think they’ll put it on my shirt at my football team! The Playgroup guys kindly sent thru a jumbo box of lego (everyone loves lego) and a book title Play by Stuart Brown which I am looking forward to getting my nose into, so thanks for that Playgroup!

Very clever Dixons ads

Found these Dixons ads over at Welcome to optimism today by M&C Saatchi….

Totally love them having the balls to use “The last place you want to go” as their tagline.
Would be great to be in the Harrods, Selfridges and John Lewis boardrooms when they were discussing them!

Very cool typographic video…

Cracking typography video by BYU design students under the careful eye of Brent Barson for the 5th Typophile Film festival

Tatler ambient advertising

I love this… using a combination of perfectly placed mirror vinyls and a wall board you can be the covergirl/boy of Tatler magazine!

Such a simple idea by irish art director Robert Boyle, guaranteed to get a reaction: (click image to see a video)
